Confirmation Rehearsal and Dinner
Rehearsal for our June 4 and 11 confirmation services is to be held at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 31. A confirmation class photograph will be taken at the rehearsal. A dinner for confirmands, their families and Prayer Partners follows the rehearsal at 6:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall.
Annual Strawberry Festival
Saturday, June 10
Volunteers are needed for Trinity’s Strawberry Festival to be held on Saturday, June 10. If you would like to help, please use the signup sheet in this bulletin or contact the church office at 631-744-9355. Evie Buhner and Barbara Hutter are coordinating this year’s event and would like your help to make this a fun filled event for all everyone.
Donate Items for Tag Sale
Donations for the Strawberry Festival's Tag Sale may be brought to the Church between May 29th to June 4th and placed in the large tent near the parish hall. All items must be clean, in working condition and have all working parts. Note: We do not accept the following items: bed sheets, golf balls, bowling balls, ski equipment and boots, T.V.'s, pet cages and carriers, computers, monitors, printers, speakers, typewriters, cell phones, artificial Christmas trees, or large furniture.
Sort and Price Tag Sale Items
We need help with sorting and pricing the during the week of June 5-9 please call Vicki Bender 631-331-5024. to arrange the time you are available to help sort, and clean items for tag sale.
We need help with cleaning berries on Friday June 9. Please call Evelyn Buhner 631-521-5770 to arrange your time available.
Set-up and Clean-up
We need help with set up and cleanup after 2:00 p.m. so that the hall and grounds are in order for Saturday worship service.
Donate Items for Silent Auction
Do you have a new or unused item, talent or service you are willing to donate for the Silent Auction. Please bring it into the Church by Tuesday, June 6th.
Vacation Bible School
July 31-August 4
Vacation Bible School for children ages 4 through grades 5 is offered this year on July 31-August 4. Youth in grades 6-8 are encouraged to participate in VBS in Color, an integral part of the VBS program. This year’s theme, “Maker Fun Factory,” A world where curious kids become hands-on inventors who discover they’re lovingly crafted by God. A VBS afternoon field trip program is also available. Adult and teen volunteer helpers are needed. Registration forms are available online or at the narthex table. Trinity’s Office Internship Opportunity
An internship opportunity is available in our office for an individual seeking to fulfill the experience requirement for an Office Assistant position. The internship would include a total of 150 hours over a 10-week period. The daily work schedule would be based on our needs and the intern’s availability during the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The intern will work under the direct supervision of the Parish Secretary. Needed for Ushers 10:30 a.m. Service
Have you been thinking about getting involved and doing something that would help Trinity Church? Would you like to meet other congregants who attend your service? Consider serving as an Usher. You would be asked to serve once or twice a month and would work with experienced ushers who would explain and guide you through the process. Trinity’s specially trained Stephen ministers offer Christian encouragement and supportive care to members and friends of the congregation who are coping with difficult situations, life transitions, the death of loved ones, the chronic illness of self, spouse or child, etc. Contact Pastor Bruce Kaifler for more information about our Stephen Ministry Program.
Meet the Mortgage Fund
Thank you for your generous and regular offerings to our Meet the Mortgage Fund. Your willingness to contribute to the fund, over and above your regular offerings, is crucially important to the congregation if we are to meet our monthly mortgage obligation of approximately $7,400. Please use the green Meet the Mortgage Fund envelopes for your offerings; a supply is available on the ushers’ tables at the entrances to the church and at the receptionist’s desk in the annex.
"Invited In" Hot Meal
A free hot meal is served at 5:00 p.m. this Thursday and every Thursday evening in the fellowship hall of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. We thank our great volunteer staff of cooks, servers and organizers!
Donate a Sleeping Bag Coat!
The weather is getting colder and many people are living outdoors. You can help by sponsoring a sleeping bag coat to be given to someone in need. Each coat costs $100.00 plus shipping. Greeting Card Ministry
Our Greeting Card Ministry sends cards to our members on our prayer listing. We currently have four teams and are in need of additional volunteers. If you would like to help out by writing out greeting cards once a month, please contact Patti Smith at (631) 312-3694.
Vocal Choir Rehearsals
Jay Rutledge, Organist and Choir Director at Trinity Church, invites your participation in our Senior Vocal Choir. The choir offers selections at our 9:00 a.m. worship hour and occasionally at our 10:30 a.m. worship time.
