The Advent and Christmas season have come upon us quickly this year, and they bring with them both the promise of hope, and the joy of hope fulfilled. We may not always be aware of it, but we live in the days that the prophets longed for; the time in which the light of Christ shines brightly in the life of the world.
It has, for many people, been a long and difficult year, and certainly here at Trinity we have had our share of challenges, but as the preparation for the Nativity of our Lord begins, we are once again filled with a sense of joy and wonder as we await the celebration of the Incarnation.
For you and me, the celebration of Christmas begins with worship, so I want to share with you once again the times of our services:
Christmas Eve 4:00 p.m. –
Children’s Christmas Service
Christmas Eve 8:00 p.m. –
The Service of the Angels with Holy Communion and Candle Lighting
Christmas Eve 10:00 p.m. –
The Service of the Shepherds with Holy Communion and Candle lighting
Christmas Day 10:00 a.m. –
A Service of Lessons and Carols with Holy Communion
Beginning with the shepherds, we are blessed to be among the faithful who have been called to make the journey to the manger and “see this thing which the Lord has made known to us.” To hear the story once again, sing the sacred Christmas carols, to experience once again the joy of the Incarnation, and to receive the Eucharist; these are the things that will inspire us throughout the coming year, as we know that our Lord is with us in all things.
As at so many other times during this year, I am hoping that you will consider giving a special gift to Trinity this year. As we celebrate the birth of our Lord, it is a wonderful time to give even greater support to ministry of Christ’s church. With your commitment and ongoing support, we will continue to do the ministry to which we are called. Your giving directly impacts the proclamation of the Gospel in our community.
As we make our journey toward Bethlehem, I hope that you will make the walk with us, share the anticipation of the shepherds, the joy of Mary, and the blessing of the presence of Bethlehem’s child at the center of your celebration.
Christmas Blessings and Peace,
Pastor Peter
