Our Sr. High Youth Ministry offers wonderful fellowship and servanthood activities for teenagers.
Trinity Lutheran Nursery School, a Saturday morning Youth Club, a large and active Confirmation ministry, Sunday School classes, a summer day camp and Vacation Bible School program give our younger children and youth many opportunities to enjoy Christian fellowship and grow in the faith. Wednesday morning Bible Studies, an Alpha small group program, a monthly First Sunday Fellowship Meal, a weekly hot meal program and food pantry, and an active women’s organization are among our many ministries, programs and special activities. Enabling and supporting all of our ministry is Trinity’s Church Council. |
Trinity--its people and its pastors
I am pleased you have found your way to our website!
Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Metropolitan New York Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. We are located in Rocky Point, New York--a community approximately sixty miles east of New York City on Long Island’s beautiful North Shore. We are an active church, a congregation blessed with dedicated, hard working parishioners who willingly and generously offer their time, talent and financial resources in support of our many programs, missions and special projects. Our unique church building appears to many as a large fish, in fact, we are known in the community as The Fish Church. In reality, however, the church is in the shape of an equilateral triangle, a Christian symbol of the Trinity. God is, we confess in the Nicene Creed, “of one divine essence, yet of three persons, equal in power and alike eternal”. This is the universal Christian doctrine of the Triune God. The gospel of Jesus—the evangel, or good news—is the treasure of our church, the content of our preaching and teaching, and the heartbeat of our mission and service. An evangelical church is one which presents the good news of Jesus Christ as the very center of Christian faith and life, and the standard by which all else is understood, explained, and judged. We are an intentional Christian community of the Lutheran tradition. We affirm the Unaltered Augsburg Confession, a concise summary of Lutheran doctrine presented during the Protestant Reformation, as a unifying expression of our faith and practice. Lutheranism grew out of the 16th century movement of reform begun by the German theologian and priest, Martin Luther. As a Christian community we believe that we are created by God in Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and called and sent to bear witness to God’s creative, redeeming, and sanctifying activity in the world. If you are not familiar with Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, I invite you to visit us. Hopefully this website will give you some idea of who we are and what we are all about. Feel free to contact me at jkolbo123@verizon.net. I’ll do my best to answer your questions and address your concerns. Jeffrey Kolbo Pastor [Trinity Nursery School] [ELCA] [NY Metro Synod] |
